Fishing Info: San Gregorio Lake is situated in the San Pedro Wilderness Area in northern New Mexico. The thirty acre high meadow lake holds hatchery-raised rainbows and hybrid cutthroat trout. Reaching San Gregorio requires a modest hike just short of a mile. The access trail leads you to the southeastern part of the lake. The fishing season varies depending on the moisture that winter brings. Generally June through October are good months. The southeastern section of the lake seems to be a favorite of anglers whom elect to fish from the shore. Anglers who prefer fly-fishing often fish the west side in a float tube or light canoe. Summer months provide good hatches in the early morning and evening. In July and August hoppers prevail.
